A senior electrical engineer focused on practical results.
MAK Engineering is an independent practice founded on client satisfaction, technical rigor, and the belief that good engineering is plain-spoken, cost-aware, and built for the people who run the facility.
Founded in 2016. Engineered by professionals who care about your project.
Matthew Keezer, P.Eng., founded MAK Engineering to offer Atlantic Canada's owners a more direct, more accountable alternative to big-firm engineering — where projects are lost in workflow queues and rarely see the senior engineer who stamped them.
Our clients include industrial plants, utilities, municipalities, developers, hospitals, schools, and private owners. Every engagement starts with understanding what the project actually needs — and where design dollars should (and shouldn't) go.
We work across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador. Most engagements run end-to-end: pre-design scoping, detailed drawings and specifications, bid support, construction oversight, and commissioning.
How we work
- Single point of contact. The engineer who scopes the job is the engineer who signs the drawings.
- Cost discipline. We stay within budget without cutting the things owners quietly depend on.
- Client education. We explain trade-offs — so you're informed when you make decisions.
- Follow-through. Design is only half the job — we're there through commissioning and handover.
What "practical engineering" means to us
Clear recommendations
No ambiguity, no hedging. If there's a better path for your budget, we'll tell you — even if it's less work for us.
Safety first
Life-safety and code compliance aren't negotiable. Arc-flash, fire alarm, and grounding get the attention they deserve.
Built to maintain
We design systems that the facility team can actually service — with spare capacity, labeled infrastructure, and sensible standardization.
Work with an engineer who puts your project first.
I'd love to hear what you're planning — even at the napkin-sketch stage.
